The cause of the explosion was yet to be ascertained, police said.
Superintendent of Police Kumar Pratik said Natthu Kushwaha (45), a farmer, died on the spot. His seven family members, including three women, have been hospitalised.
"One of them, Ramdevi (20), is serious and admitted in a hospital at Gwalior while others were admitted in a Jhansi hospital," the SP said.
"A forensic team has reached the spot and after their report the cause of explosion would be known. The statements of the family members are yet to be recorded," he added.
