The 'What Makes You Beautiful' hitmakers were surprised by the sportsman during their concert in Sao Paulo, Brazil, when he appeared on a big screen to give them a video message, suggesting a future musical collaboration, reported Daily Mirror.
"I admire and love you. I play the guitar and one day, we'll play together. I don't want to play football, we'll play guitar, okay? Welcome to Brazil again and good luck," Pele said in the video.
The soccer star is reportedly taking the proposition seriously and is in talks to work with the group for a charity event.
"At the moment a list of potential dates and venues are being discussed but it is looking likely that this will happen."
The group finished the South American leg of its stadium tour on May 11. The European leg begins in Dublin, Ireland on May 23.
