Police have arrested Amit, a resident of Manana of district Panipat, accused of kidnapping and murdering Satyaparkash of Sonepat in September last, a police spokesperson said.
According to police, Satyparkash's brother Bhupendra had registered a complaint on September 7 last year at Rai police station that on September 5 his brother received a call from an unknown person who had called him to the fields and since then he went missing.
A few days later, Bhupendra received a ransom call demanding Rs three crore for the release of his brother, they said.
During the investigation, the accused has confessed to the crime and said he had called Satyaparkash to a field and along with his accomplices allegedly murdered him near Samalkha, the spokesperson said.
