One injured, 13,000 affected in China quake

At least one woman was injured and over 13,000 people were affected today when a moderate 5.5-magnitude earthquake jolted China's southwest Guizhou Province, the biggest tremor to hit the area in over six decades.
The woman from Xinliu Village was hit by tiles and is receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Over 13,000 residents of 2,200 households in Jianhe County were affected by the quake, according to the provincial civil affairs department.
The quake jolted the region at 9.47 am local time at a depth of 7 kilometres, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
Thousands of rooms were damaged, but there have been no reports of houses collapsing or livestock deaths, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
In the worst-hit Nanjia Township, roads were damaged. Communication and power supply in the county is operating as normal.
The quake, which was Guizhou's biggest in terms of magnitude since China was founded in 1949.
