According to police, the two students of Dronacharjya Aacdemy of Barpeta Road came to meet their friend when their motorcycle collided head-on with a truck in front of BH college on National Highway 31.
One student Vishal Chetry died on the spot, while the other Shahinur Rahman was critically injured and was taken to Barpeta Medical College and Hospital, police said.
Following the incident, the students of the college blocked the road but later police cleared it.
