The accused had recently sent a mail to the complainant on his email stating that he was the winner of a lottery worth GBP (Great Britain Pound) 6 lakh, a press release issued by the Central Crime Station stated.
"On the instruction of the accused, the complainant, believing that he has won lottery, deposited over Rs 35 lakh in about 16 bank accounts in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Mumbai, furnished by the fraudsters," police said.
The sleuths recovered Rs 4 lakh in cash, one car and some SIM cards, among other things, from the accused.
