The orders in this regard were issued by the DGP and the Chief Director of Vigilance Bureau, Suresh Arora, at a state-level meeting with senior officers of the department, an official spokesman said here.
Arora directed officers to initiate appropriate legal action against a witness under Section 182 of CrPC if they turned hostile during a trial.
He asked his officers to personally monitor cases and ensure that none of their colleagues or bureau officials were engaging in corruption.
Public complaints, vigilance enquires and cases under investigation, too, were discussed at the meeting with necessary directions having been issued to ensure speedy disposal of pending work, the spokesman added.
