Opening Mukundpur flyover, Sisodais takes dig at PM

Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over demonetisation,, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today said the Delhi government was trying to "relieve people from queues" by executing several projects, but "some persons" were making "efforts" to make people stand in long queues across the country.
Speaking at the inaugural function of a six-lane flyover at Mukundpur Crossing on Outer Ring Road, Sisodia said although the AAP government feels the pain of people when they got stuck in traffic, Centre "doesn't feel" the same seeing people in long queues outside banks and ATMs.
The 23.6 km-long Vikaspuri-Wazirabad signal-free corridor was thrown open to public as the Delhi government today which will significantly ease traffic congestion on Outer Ring Road.

"The Delhi government is trying to ensure people don't have to stand in queues, but there are some persons who want people to stand in long queues across the country.
"We understand the pain of people...Could you imagine how people used to suffer due to long traffic jams at this stretch? We need to understand people's problems. This flyover is just not the only flyover, rather it was constructed to ensure people are not stuck in long traffic jams," he said.
He also said people living nearby will be benefitted due to the completion of this flyover, adding "we want to give people a life of ease and dignity by this project".

"Once upon a time, I used to tell my friends that I live in East Delhi and then they replied that how you live in this area which has traffic problems. In such areas, there is an undeclared emergency," he also said.
Since demonetisation has been announced by the Prime Minister, there have been long queues outside banks and ATMs with people seeking to exchange old notes and withdraw money.
Sisodia also said the city administration takes care of public money, but the PM's name allegedly comes up in a "bribery case".
