Raising the issue during Zero Hour in the Assembly, opposition members including those of National People's Party and Congress demanded action against the Vice Chancellor and Registrar of Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS).
NPP leader K L Meena alleged that the state government has still not fixed the responsibility for the "mass irregularities" and mistakes done in RPMT-2014 in which over 40,000 students had appeared.
"RUHS' Vice Chancellor, Registrar and Convener of the RPMT are still enjoying their positions. The state government has not taken any action in the matter," Meena said.
In a statement, Rajasthan Medical and Health Minister R S Rathor said the state government would request the Governor, who is also the chancellor of the university, to take up this matter and order a high level probe into RPMT irregularities.
Rathor told the House that the state government could not order the probe or recommend it to CBI as per the existing amendments in the varsity's acts, and only the Chancellor (Governor) can do it.
Rathor further informed the house that the RPMT-2014 would be held again on July 27 at only six centres in the state and that it would be off line and based on OMR sheet.
A group of students, who appeared for the examination, had approached the court alleging discrepancies in the question paper and demanded re-examination.
