Puducherry PCC President A V Subramanian said in a release it was mind boggling that police lathicharged agitators who only wanted Chief Minister N Rangasamy to implement his assurance that all retrenched employees be reemployed and that the file relating to this was sent to Lt Governor for his nod.
He said when he and the Leader of the Opposition V Vaithilingam had a meeting yesterday with the Lt Governor, he clarified that no file had been sent to him for the sanction of orders to re-instate the employees.
The PCC leader appealed to the Chief Minister to show humane consideration and reabsorb the retrenched employees without any further delay.
(Police resorted to lathicharge and arrested around 100 agitators, but none were injured).
