Leader of Opposition in North Delhi Municipal Corporation, Mukesh Goel raised the matter during the meeting of the standing committee of the NDMC today.
The Congress councillor, in a statement, referring to the meeting of the standing committee on August 20, said, a short notice was raised that day but "contradictory answers" were given to them.
For a question, Goel said, "the reply said that for 2012-13, number of patients treated in ayurvedic hospitals or dispensaries were 3,91,594 while number of patients treated in homoeopathic dispensaries were 3,05,782 and number of patients in Unani dispensaries were 3,87,431."
Alleging further irregularities, Goel asked that "how were those 11 lakh patients treated."
In a further answer to the second question, it was said, "according to amended budget estimates for 2013-14 and budget estimates for 2014-15 the money spent on medicines were -- Ayurvedic Hospital Ballimaran (Rs 58,000), Ayurvedic Hospital Haidarpur (Rs 1,01,000) and Ayurvedic dispensaries (Rs 20,02,000)," Goel claimed.
"And, it is our demand that a clarification be issued on the matter and a probe be ordered under the civic body's vigilance branch to find responsibilities for such irregularities," Goel said.
"It is suggested to shift the market to 150 acres of land at National Highway 1 near Narela township... Due to the grain market, the local residents have to face problem of traffic jam daily," Bhardwaj said in a statement.
