Over 1.71 lakh salaried people file tax in NCR

More than 1.71 lakh salaried taxpayers have filed their I-T returns in the national capital region till today, officials said.
The government, in order to facilitate the taxpayers, has also extended the date for filing these returns to August 5.
The Income Tax department has created special counters for this job at the new Civic Centre building in the national capital which houses the 'Aaykar Bhawan'.
"The counters will be extended till August 5. Fifty counters with Tax Return Prepares have been deployed for this task," a senior official said.
