Over 3 crore meant to replenish ATMs stolen in J&K

Over Rs 3 crore meant to be deposited in SBI ATMs was allegedly swindled in Udhampur district by two employees of a company assigned to refill the machines with currency notes.
"There are over 10 to 14 SBI ATMs in the area and the bank has outsourced the task of refilling the money in those ATMs to a private company," a police officer said.
Vicky and Sahil, two employees of the company were tasked to take the money and replenish the ATMs, the officer said.
The company recieved complaints that there were some discrepancies in the amount deposited in the machines and what was shown on the papers, he said, adding, the company conducted an audit and found that over Rs 3 crore has been swindled from these ATMs.
A complaint has been lodged by the company following which Vicky has been arrested while Sahil is absconding, the officer said.
"We are conducting investigation and further details can be revealed after the inquiry progresses," he said.
