Paid holiday for Haryana staff registered as voters in HP

The Haryana government has notified November 9, the polling day for the Himachal Pradesh assembly election, as a paid holiday for its employees, who are enrolled as voters in the hill state.
Such employees can avail special casual leave on that day to exercise their franchise, an official spokesman said.
He said the holiday will be observed in all Haryana government offices, boards and corporations and educational institutes for the staff who are registered as voters in Himachal Pradesh.
It was also notified that employees of factories, shops and private establishments located in Haryana, who are registered voters of Himachal Pradesh, can take paid leave under the Representation of the People Act for casting votes, the spokesman said.
