At least 13 militants were killed today during airstrikes by Pakistan's army when fighter jets pounded their hideouts in the restive northwestern tribal region bordering Afghanistan.
The attacks targeted the rebels in suburbs of Datta Khel area of North Waziristan, one of seven tribal regions.
13 militants were killed and their five hideouts destroyed in the attack, Army said in a statement.
The information could not be verified through independent sources as the area is out of reach of free media.
Pakistani troops have been engaged in a full-scale offensive against Taliban and other militants in North Waziristan region under an operation named 'Zarb-i-Azb' and have captured most of the district from al-Qaeda linked militants.
But the rebels are still holding their positions in the mountainous border region with Afghanistan, prompting the security forces to launch punitive strikes.
Army says that more than 1,500 militants have been killed in the operation.
North Waziristan is one of the seven regions in Pakistan's Federally Administered Tribal Areas governed by tribal laws which is situated along the Pak-Afghan border and is rife with Taliban militant activity.
