Pakistan's law enforcement agencies today claimed to have foiled a terror plot by arresting three militants of a radical group that was planning to attack important personalities here.

According to Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab Police, "On receiving intelligence reports a team led by CTD personnel raided a park in Mughalpura area late last night and arrested three terrorists."

The CTD said the suspects are active members of Sautal Ummah that has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS).

"The suspects were planning to attack important personalities of different institutions in Lahore on the order of their leaders," it said.

It said explosive material, six-foot primacord, three electric circuits and IS literature have been recovered from them.

The three have been identified as Muzzahar Ali, Asad Aftab and Malik Khyzir Hayat.

They have been shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation.

The government has tasked CTD to have zero tolerance towards individuals and groups having allegiance with the ISIS.

The CTD recently had arrested some doctors and university teachers on the suspicion of links with the ISIS.
