A revenue department official posted in poll-bound Palghar has been suspended on charge of dereliction of duty in the election work.
The action was taken against Nayab Tehsildar V D Dalvi who was entrusted the responsibility of the Palghar assembly segment.
The Lok Sabha bypoll to Palghar seat will be held on May 28.
The byelection was necessitated following the death of sitting BJP MP Chintaman Wanga.
The Shiv Sena has fielded the late MP's son Srinivas against the BJP's Rajendra Gavit and the Congress' Damodar Shingda. Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA) has given ticket to former MP Baliram Jadhav.
Dalvi was suspended by District Collector and Election Officer Prashant Narnavre following a complaint of insubordination and shoddy work, an official release said today.
Palghar LS seat comprises six assembly segments: Dahanu, Palghar, Vikramgad, Boisar, Nallasopara, and Vasai.
