In his message to Rao, Panneerselvam said, "On the joyous occasion of your 76th birthday, I have great pleasure in conveying my warm greetings and best wishes to you."

Earlier, AIADMK Rajya Sabha MP V Maithreyan, a supporter of the caretaker CM, met Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao at Raj Bhavan here, sources close to the Panneerselvam camp said.
Earlier in the day, Sasikala had also extended greetings to Rao with the party saying a bouquet of flowers was presented to the Governor on her behalf.
