The band were playing ahead of Queens of the Stone Age on the Main Stage when the speakers blew while frontwoman Hayley Williams was speaking to the crowd, reported Digital Spy.
The technical fault lasted for around 15 minutes, leaving the rock group in silence as the audience were left confused as to what caused the outage.
A Reading Festival spokesperson said that the glitch was caused by a fiber optic cable Paramore had brought along with them for the show.
However, the band didn't let the technical problem affect their mood, tweeting after the set, "Absolutely unreal, Reading. Thank you for singing along & making us feel welcome once again.. But somehow, more than ever."
