Parapar the most complex character in my life: Minister-actor

Labelling his character in Rituparno disciple Sanjoy Nag's Parapar as the most complex having been ever projected in his career, Bengal minister-actor-playwright Bratya Basu says he believes in giving precedence to director.
"While making films I believe in total surrender to the director. I am the director's actor at that moment," the Muktodhara actor told PTI here.
"During shoot when the camera rolls I tend to forget I am a product of theatre, I am obsessed with films. I have to see my director's self doesn't overshadow my identity in the fiction," Bratya, whose Ruddhasangeet had earned laurels as stage plays, said.

"I may have my share of arguments with many directors when I can't comprehend the dialogues, but it didn't happen in his case. In fact the way he came and approached me for the role even before finding a producer, I was struck and I gave my word. I had completely surrendered to him during shoot. It is the most complex character I have ever etched out in my career," the 'Mahapurush o Kapurush' actor said.
Bratya, the Higher Education minister, would rate Moti Nandi as one of the most powerful writers having penned milestones like 'Dakshiner Baranda'.
"Sanjay had phased out my shooting schedules considering I would be preoccupied during day time. Either in the morning or evening hours," the high-profile minister said. Parapar is based on 'Puber Janala'. By Moti Nandy, whom Bratya would rate as "One having endeared himself through his writings to every single Bengalee."

On sharing screen space with Ahmed Rubel, the prominent stage actor from Bangladesh, Bratya said, "He is an amazing actor. He hails from Dhaka theatre and with both of us sharing theatre background it helps He is anh example of humbleness and modesty."
The flick, Produced by Purti Films, will be releasded by the middle of this year.
