Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has planned a fortnight long 'Jana Sampark Abhiyan' in Goa beginning from tomorrow as a fulfilment of its promise to the voters during last year's Legislative Assembly elections.

Party's state unit chief Vinay Tendulkar told reporters today that Parrikar will stay at various villages which he had visited in the run up for the elections, held on March 3 last year.

"Exactly a year ago, we had begun 'Jana Sampark Yatra' promising the people that if we come to power we will be back in their homes. We are fulfilling the promise," Tendulkar said.

When asked why he had left the Catholic-dominated Salcette taluka from his itinerary, Tendulkar said Parrikar will be visiting Salcette later. "We have our allies representing those constituencies in Salcette, we will finalise a plan after consulting them," he said.

Parrikar had spearheaded 'Jana Sampark Yatra' between January 15 and 30 last year, which had galvanised the voters' base for the party, ultimately resulting in its victory.

During the yatra, achievements of the state government in the last nine months would be highlighted, Tendulkar said.

"The Chief Minister will also be available to listen to people's grievances and suggestions," he said.
