Union Minister and LJP president Ramvilas Paswan today said Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who once nourished the ambition of becoming Prime Minister, is knocking the doors of the PM and he will soon be relieved of the chief minister's chair.
"He nourished the ambition to become the PM and...Today left to knock doors of the PM... Soon he will be relieved of the CM's chair," Paswan said in a sarcastic remark on Kumar at a LJP workers' meet here.
Paswan's jibe at Kumar was in the context his meeting with the Prime Minister yesterday and his urge to provide special financial assistance to compensate the loss accruing out of the 14th Finance Commission recommendations.
The LJP chief poked fun at Kumar for doing the rounds of different places in Delhi today to meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi, SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and jailed INLD chief Om Prakash Chautala, and said these would not help him win the Assembly polls in Bihar.
He also sought to puncture Kumar's claim that after BJP's loss in Delhi to AAP, it would meet the same fate in Bihar in the Assembly polls later this year.
"Bihar is not Delhi. Here people stick to the decision once taken," he said referring to the overwhelming support the BJP and NDA allies got in the general elections in Bihar helping them win 31 out of total 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar.
"The same will be repeated in the coming Bihar elections," Paswan, flanked by MP son Chirag Paswan, brother and state LJP chief Pasupati Paras and other party leaders, said.
