The 41-year-old "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" actress hadn't posted on the social media site since April 2014, when she had wished son Julian a happy birthday.
But Paula apologised for her lack of interaction as she made her micro-blogging comeback.
"Please forgive my long absence! Feeling so grateful for every second of this life. If any of you are still out there, thank you & I'm sorry!" she wrote.
Paula's absence from the site began shortly after she and ex-husband Robin Thicke announced their split in February, 2014.
However, her lack of tweets don't appear to have been a conscious decision, as she has continued to share images on her Instagram page.
