Pawar dismisses divergent view on Article 370 in his party

Two days after his nephew Ajit Pawar hailed the decision to abrogate Article 370 of Constitution, NCP chief Sharad Pawar said on Thursday that if someone from the state unit was expressing his views, it would not affect the party's national policy.

NCP had protested in Parliament when the BJP-led Union government moved a resolution to do away with special status for Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.

Asked by reporters here whether like the Congress his party was divided on the issue, the NCP chief said, "If somebody from (NCP) Maharashtra is expressing views on Article 370, it will not affect the (party's) national policy....the policy decided at the national level is important."
