Punjab's NRI Affairs Minister, Tota Singh announced this while presiding over a meeting with representatives of the NRI community, here today.
He also said Punjab government has requested the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court to set up more NRI courts in the state for which the state government was ready to bear all expenses.
Singh asked the NRIs to constitute a five-member district committees which would be given recognition by the state government, according to an official release here.
He said that these committees would be attached with the NRI police stations that would help in resolving NRI disputes amicably.
Singh said as per proclaimed offender cases, state government was collecting a complete data of NRIs who had been declared as POs to re-examine their cases.
He said that a mechanism was being worked out to remove such persons from the list of POs who were not involved in any heinous crimes.
The minister said that state government was also in a process to make some amendments in the present Revenue Act to make division of NRI lands easy and time-bound.
