In a statement, PCI Chairperson Justice (retd) Markanday Katju urged media persons, local authorities and public to give their version of events to the probe panel.
The committee members left for Chandigarh today and will return here on Sunday.
"The authorities are requested to contact the committee members and give their version about the incident," Katju said.
Journalists were attacked on November 18 when police had launched an operation to arrest controversial 'godman' Rampal, who was holed up in his asharm along with his supporters in Barwala in Hisar district of Haryana.
Longsing Teron, editor and owner of Karbi daily Thekar, had made a complaint to the PCI in this regard and blamed a local government official as his paper had "highlighted" alleged cases of corruption against him.
