The party in its mouthpiece "Congress Sandesh" released today claimed, "the people of Karnataka want a change and the change is Congress...People of Karnataka are getting ready to usher in a rule of sanity by voting Congress back to power."
In its editorial, the Congress journal alleged that the people of Karnataka have witnessed an "anti-development and rampantly corrupt" government during the last five years.
Congress has also made corruption a big issue in the polls there and released a chargesheet against the state government in this regard.
"Since it was about money power, there were many attempts to dislodge its own government from within the BJP. Today the Karnataka BJP is split into three factions; BJP, KJP and BSR (Sreemalu).
In an a piece in the journal "Angry Karnataka: Quest for a Change", Union Minister M Veerppa Moily, a senior party leader from the state, also considered to be in the race for Chief Ministership, hit out the state government for "massive real estate frauds" and "communal agenda" of the BJP.
"The people of Karnataka have become averse to mis-governance and mis-deeds of the BJP. They now want a party, which could provide stable, progressive and effective governance....Congress has emerged as the strongest contender to capture power on its own...," Moily said.
