A senior party leader also accused the UPA government of misruling the country and expressed hope that the new government at the Centre would give security to people.
TMC general secretary Partha Chatterjee said that the TMC government was working hard on providing 'good governance' and on development.
He stressed that the state should not be compared to other states because of the Darjeeling issue and the huge debt burden it inherited from the previous regime.
"The government should give security to people. It should not lead the country to a disaster," he said.
