Paul raced away to a two frames to nil lead before Prabhu recovered ground and levelled the match.
The Railways player then played in a solid manner to seal the decider.
In another match, Dyan of Cue Zone upset higher ranked Sagar Jain of Nellore by three frames to two.
Results: Round of 64: Rakesh (SVS) beat Pratish (TNBSA) 3-2 (33-65, 14-57, 71-16, 108-01, 77-22); Freddy (Q-Lounge) beat Shalof (Kerala) 3-1 (61-47, 57-74, 48-47, 49-48); Kadher (Smart Shooters) beat B C Karthik (Karnataka) 3-1 (79-33, 36-69, 71-38, 64-26); Aashis (Q-Lounge) beat Radesh (YMCA) 3-1 (14-57, 58-25, 65-11, 64-09).
