Alleging that the state-run power utility TANGEDCO is riddled with debts, PMK today demanded a white paper on power purchase agreements made by Tamil Nadu Government with private players.
"Tamil Nadu government should release a white paper on all the power purchase agreements concluded with private companies," PMK founder leader S Ramadoss said in a statement.
TANGEDCO (Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation) is already facing losses and its debt burden has already crossed Rs one lakh crore, he claimed.
He alleged that the State was buying electricity at a higher cost and said that "the government would have conceived and executed its own power generation projects if it had concern about people's welfare.
