Ramadoss said that this was the "first time" in the country that an ordinance was being promulgated twice, "for a purpose which hits the farmers and this is condemnable."
He recalled that the bill to replace the first ordinance could not be passed in the Rajya Sabha and that he had wanted the Centre not to pursue with it further and this also was the "aspirations" of the people.
"Bypassing all these views, the government has promulgated the ordinance once again and by this the government proves its loyalty to corporates," Ramadoss charged.
"The ordinance which will hit the country's foodgrain production must be withdrawn immediately or allowed to lapse on its own," he said in a statement.
The land acquisition ordinance, which the government could not get converted into a legislation in Rajya Sabha due to stiff opposition, was re-promulgated yesterday, a day before it was to lapse.
