Police granted 36-hr custody of accused in Akhil Gupta murder

A local court today granted the police 36-hour custody of an accused in the Akhil Gupta murder case.
Gupta, a witness in a rape case against self-styled godman Asaram, had been murdered in 2015 and Kartik Halder was held in this regard.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Gopal Tiwari allowed the police remand of the accused shooter Haldar for 36 hours from 10 am tomorrow.
The prosecution had sought his custody on the plea that the firearm used in the murder was to recovered from a place in Ghaziabad.
Haldar is lodged in the Karnal jail and was brought here amid tight security.
