Nishara was last morning found shot dead by one of her husband's relative.
Her husband Usman had claimed that four robbers shot her dead when she resisted their loot bid.
During investigation, police found many shortcomings in his story and arrested Usman, Superintendent of Police (rural) Rakesh Pandey said.
Police also recovered pistol from his possession, which was used in the commission of crime, he said.
Usman killed Nishara, who was his fifth wife, suspecting her character, Pandey said, while her parents alleged that Usman killed their daughter for dowry.
An FIR under section 304B (dowry death) has been registered against Usman, who has been sent to jail, the SP said.
