A search is on for a copper plate laden lorry which reportedly went missing near Soolagiri in Krishnagiri district, police said.
The Namakkal-based lorry was carrying the copper sheet load from a company at Tuticorin to Gujarat on Thursday when it reportedly went missing in the wee hours of yesterday.
Efforts to contact the lorry drivers R.Srikanth and S.Saravanan of Namakkal also failed as their mobile phones were in a switched-off condition, police said, adding, a search was launched following the vehicle owner's complaint.
The value of the missing property is stated to be around Rs 1.72 crore.
