Police SI removed from duty in connection with woman torture

The Superintendent of Police in Birbhum today removed a sub-inspector and sent her to police lines following an interim report of investigation into the alleged torture of a woman in the district.
"On the basis of the interim report of investigation done by Additional Superintendent of Police, SI Kartik Mohan Ghosh has been taken off active police duty for the time being and told to report to the district police line," Alok Rajoria, SP, Birbhum said.
On the basis of the interim report of investigation submitted by additional SP Ananda Roy, Ghosh has been shifted from regular duty.
Sabur Seikh, the husband of the tortured woman lodged an unnamed FIR with Panrui police station today.
A woman, stated to be the relative of a BJP activist wanted in connection with a bomb attack case, had filed charges of forcibly being taken to police station by cops following a raid at her Ilambazar residence in Birbhum district yesterday.
