"If police and society work together, a positive change can be brought in the society," she said while stressing on the need to improve security for women in the city.
The Chief Minister was speaking at a seminar, titled 'Women Empowerment and Social Development' at Bharati Vidyapeeth institute.
On the issue of women empowerment, Dikshit said a lot has to be done to ensure equality for the fairer sex and rued that women's achievements are often overlooked.
In her address, Dikshit also listed initiatives taken by her government to ensure welfare of women.
"Our government was the first to introduce Laadli scheme which was later on replicated by Central Government and other states," she said.
