Addressing a press conference, District Deputy Election Officer Madhavi Sardeshmukh urged voters to check the presence of their names in the rolls, adding that even if voters had voters' identity card and valid proof, nothing could be done if their names were not on the voters' list.
The district had a total 72.70 lakh eligible voters of which around 55 per cent are male. A total of 67 candidates including a large number of independents are contesting this election.
The main parties in the fary are BJP,Congress, NCP, Shiv Sena, MNS, AAP and the Dharmarajya Party.
District collector and election officer P Velrasu is busy finalising critical polling booths in the district.
