Speaking to reporters after a surprise visit to offices of the Cooperative Supermarket Amudhaurabi here to ascertain whether the staff were at their work places on time, the chief minister said he was shocked to see that a majority of workers were coming 20 to 25 minutes late.
Working hour starts at 8.45 a.M. Here.
He said he had asked the officials of the supermarket to ensure that workers were coming on time and also asked them to issue warning to latecomers.
He said employees should keep in mind that they should be at work places on time as people seeking their services had been complaining of late arrival of the staff.
"This will not be tolerated and very soon biometric system to keep track of the attendance of the staff would be introduced in all offices and institutions," he said.
