Popular Bangladeshi actor debuts in Tolly flick

Bangladeshi actor Dilruba Yasmeen Ruhee, having delivered the role of a conduit in the drama of love, intrigue and betrayal in Glamour, feels 2014 was her momentous year having essayed contrasting roles in the Parambrata Chatterjee-starrer and period film Shongram where she was cast alongside Anupam Kher.
"In Glamour, my first break in Indian film industry, I play the go-between in the web of lust, passion, greed and murder. My first psycho thriller, a dark film while in Shongram I play a rape victim based in the 1971 Liberation War and how rootless people become and how women fall prey in any conflict. It was a privilege to work with Anupamji in the film which was feted in London festival," she said.

"2014 was a watershed in my career," Ruhee, whose foray in small screen was Tagore's Aporichita in Bangladesh followed by several other s, told PTI after the premier of Glamour.
The tall, svelte Bangladeshi model-turned actor, having married a British-Asian director said she was happy that another thriller flick of her was released in a Dhaka plex on the same day.
"We share the same language and same food habit. And the language of cinema is universal. I wish Glamour is seen by my fans on the other side of the border," Ruhee said.
IFFI-winner Chhotoder Chhobi maker Kaushik Ganguly found the ending of Glamour intriguing and unpredictable which doesnot follow the conventional route of Tollywood.

"It is nice that thriller has come in such a big way and every director is giving a new twist to it," Kaushik said while actor-director Churni Ganguly, having filmed critically acclaimed Nirbasito on the life of an exiled Bangladeshi writer said, she had a hunch how the ending will turn up.
"Being an ardent Feluda fan, I named my two principal characters as Feluda and his assistant Topshe and it is my tribute to Alfred Hitchcock and Satyajit Ray," director Mohua Chakraborty said of the Orion Entertainment production.
