Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda", the Chairman of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), left for India Thursday on a three-day official visit during which he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hold talks with senior ministers.

Talking to reporters at the Tribhuvan International Airport in the capital prior to his departure, Prachanda said the main agenda of his visit was to create positive atmosphere to implement the bilateral agreements signed between the Prime Ministers of the two countries.

"There was no other political agenda except this," the former prime minister said.

Prachanda said that he will discuss with Prime Minister Modi the past commitments expressed by the Indian side on various occasions.

He is also scheduled to meet Home Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and other senior leaders among others.

Prachanda will return home on September 9.
