The "American Idol" star recently realised she was a little heavier than usual and decided to take control of the situation by adopting a new low-calorie eating plan and fitness programme, reported People magazine.
"In the industry I am in you have the pressure of perfection - and I definitely gained a few pounds," the 32-year-old singer said.
She turned to a weight loss service for help, and dedicated herself to changing her lifestyle.
Fantasia's programme (involved adhering to) a 1,200 to 1,400 calorie a day diet (that included eating) lots of protein and low carbs, drinking only water, and also eating every two to three hours to keep her metabolism boosted, according to the weight loss service company.
