On a complaint by rifle shooter Akhilesh Pratap Singh that over 1.28 lakh cartridges never reached practising shooters and they were embezzled, a local court had on March 19 directed police to register FIR and investigate the case.
The FIR against President Sushil Chaudhary and Secretary Balendu Singh was registered last evening under various sections of the IPC and Arms Act at Jawahar Nagar police station.
Singh, in his complaint, had alleged that the Association misused cartridges which were to be used by rifle shooters in their practice since 1998.
It is suspected that the cartridges were sold for a higher price in black market and it is likely that they were misused by criminal elements, Singh had said in his complaint.
