Cherlapalli Central Prison's superintendent K V Reddy, in a complaint to Kushaiguda police station, said the channel telecast a scroll-line alleging that 1.5 kg of ganja (marijuana) was seized from inmates of the prison.
"This is a false report....This has defamed the institution and the Department as well. This warrants criminal action against the news-channel," Reddy said in a official release.
He said he had requested the police to register a case against the news-channel and take action.
