Probe "mysterious deaths" of J-K youths outside state: PDP

The cases of "mysterious deaths" of Kashmiri youths outside the state should be properly investigated and the findings made public to allay misgivings among the public, opposition People's Democratic Party said today.
"While the party expresses solidarity with the bereaved families, the incidents (of death of Kashmiri youth) cannot be brushed aside," according to a statement from PDP spokesman Naeem Akhtar.
Pervez Ahmad Teli, a handicrafts salesman and a resident of downtown Srinagar, was found dead in Mumbai after he had gone missing in the Maharashtra state capital on July 6.
News of his death sparked protests by locals in Srinagar yesterday.

With reports emerging of another youth from the state found dead in Rajasthan, PDP said that the state government must pursue all cases with the state governments concerned and ensure a thorough investigation after taking the bereaved families on board.
Akhtar said senior PDP leader Qazi Mohammad Afzal today met and conveyed party's condolences to the family of one Aadil Ahmad Ganai, a resident of Central Kashmir's Ganderbal district, who was found dead in Rajasthan.

Ganai was undergoing training at an Islamic seminary in Gujarat.
PDP called for immediate steps to bring back Ganai's body to his hometown.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's political secretary, Tanvir Sadiq, is learnt to have visited Ganderbal late last night to express solidarity with the family of the deceased youth.

Sadiq said that upon instructions from Omar, special arrangements have been made to send two of Ganai's relatives to Rajasthan to bring back the youth's body.
