The police in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district has ordered a probe into a complaint by newly-elected Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) MP from Kairana Tabassum Hasan regarding a fake quote of her posted on social media.
Hasan has filed the complaint seeking action against the conspirators for creating communal tension and breaching harmony, Shamli SP Dev Ranjan Verma told PTI today.
The cyber cell would conduct an inquiry and a case would be registered against those found responsible for posting the fake massage, the SP said.
Hasan (48) had won the bypoll to the Kairana parliamentary seat on Thursday by defeating Mriganka Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party with a margin of 44,618 votes. In the process, she has become the first Muslim face from UP in the 16th Lok Sabha.
