Project to stop saline water from entering fresh water source

Tamil Nadu government today proposed to implement Rs 1,600 crore worth projects to stop saline water from entering fresh water areas in coastal parts with the aid of the Asian Development Bank.
Replying to a query during the question hour, Finance and Public Works Department Minister O Panneerselvam said the government would soon implement the projects.
He was replying to CPI(M) legislator K Balakrishnan, who sought construction of a barrage to stop saline water from entering fresh water source in the coastal areas near Chidambaram of Cuddalore district.
