BJP leader Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal today met Union Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma demanding the promotion of Hindu religious places in Kashmir for the purpose of tourism.
Poswal, a national executive member of BJP's ST Morcha, said the move would provide employment to youth belonging to the scheduled tribe category in various areas of the state.
Lamenting that several religious places have been "ignored" by successive governments of Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP leader said their development would boost the state's economy as well.
He apprised the minister that young people, offering services to Amarnath yatris, would lose their jobs once the yatra concludes.
