"To give a thrust to investment in the economy, PSUs will also play their part constructively.
"I am assured that the PSUs will invest through capital investment a total sum of Rs 2,47,941 crores in the current financial year to create a virtuous investment cycle," Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said in his budget speech for 2014-15.
The investment would help in boosting domestic investment and create more jobs.
There are more than 250 CPSEs in the country and collectively they are estimated to have total cash and bank balance of close to Rs 3 lakh crore.
