Inspector General of Punjab Police's NRI Wing Gurpreet Kaur Deo today said this at the NRI Disputes Redressal Samellan at the Punjab Police Academy here.
She said as many as 150 complaints from 17 countries were received during today's meet: 60 from Canada, 25 from the USA, 19 the UK, 5 New Zealand, 12 Australia, 8 Italy, 7 Germany, 3 Malaysia, two each from Greece and Uganda, and one each from Kenya, Portugal, UAE, Kuwait and Dubai, Norway and Denmark.
There were also some complaints regarding frauds and complaints of other nature, she told reporters here.
Deo said that all these complaints would be disposed of within a month and she instructed police officers to deal with all complaints in a fair and transparent manner so that timely justice could be provided.
She further said that special help desk had been set up to provide counselling to women facing marital disputes.
