BJP national secretary Rahul Sinha today called upon the Muslims in the country to come forward in support of the NRC in Assam and said TMC's opposition to it was an attempt to divert attention from its "failures".

There is a clear demarcation between refugees and infiltrators, he said.

Those coming to India due to religious persecution in Bangladesh such as Hindus, Christians and Buddhists are refugees and those who are in the religious majority in that country but are still coming to India for the sake of employment and benefits of economic development are infiltrators, Sinha added.

"I urge upon the Indian Muslims, especially those living in Bengal, to come forward and support a NRC like exercise in the state too. West Bengal is becoming a hub for infiltrators under the Trinamool Congress rule.

"We have to stop it as infiltrators are taking our jobs, foods and employment," the BJP national general secretary said.

Sinha said Mamata Banerjee had changed her stand on the issue of illegal immigrants and she was trying to divert attention from her "failures" as the chief minister of the West Bengal.

He claimed that Banerjee as the chief minister of Bengal was a "complete failure".

In all aspects -- be it law and order, industry, employment generation or health --the TMC government and the chief minister are "complete failures", Sinha said.

Now that the Lok sabha election is nearing, she wants to divert attention to win it, he alleged.

The complete NRC draft of Assam was released on July 30 and excluded the names of over 40 lakh people.
